Audio Visual Harmonization

For the past decade at Yale, audio visual support has been left to the individual schools and departments to solve, resulting in variation in equipment and in quality and availability of support both within and across schools. To address these inconsistencies across the health professions schools, plans are in motion to transition audio visual to be a coordinated strategy across the health professions schools. Leading this shift, the audio visual team is addressing collaborative design approaches with users, long range planning for equipment refresh, design standards, equipment installations, remote monitoring and security of systems, and the development of service level agreements. Through these activities, we aim to improve presentative and collaboration capabilities. To date, HSIS team developed a comprehensive audio visual equipment inventory of over 400 audio visual-enabled spaces. The team is now defining standards for technology across all classrooms and meeting spaces to enhance dual-attendance experiences and to enable remote support capabilities.
