Will Henry, IT Manager, oversees technological support for the School of Medicine. When he joined Yale in 2021, he stated, “I found my dream job and I’m excited to make a positive impact on people’s lives!”

Will genuinely loves the IT world. He was raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and went to Villanova University. During college, he worked in the IT department, which turned into a full-time opportunity after graduation. While he enjoyed his work experience at Villanova, a friend encouraged him to move to Trumbull, Connecticut where he worked for a hotel investment company for the next 15 years. During the pandemic, he switched from the hospitality industry to a position at Yale and is excited to be working in higher education again.

At Yale, Will’s team provides IT support for administrative, clinical and research departments. They answer the call for those who need technology services. One of his first tasks when coming to Yale was reviewing and refining workflow and procedural guidelines. He focused on data analytics and metrics to find ways to streamline processes and support for his team. He explained, “It is important that we have uniform workflow processes so communication and expectations are clear.” It’s important to him that Yale provides the opportunity to work with many diverse types of people and educational areas.

What are your current initiatives?
The current strategies are working to solidify uniform services provided by Information Technology and Audio-Visual to improve efficiency of these services across health sciences at Yale University. I enjoy partnering with my team to create better collaboration and standards to support productivity that make things easier for ourselves and our customers.

Do you have hobbies or volunteer in off hours?
My hobbies are volunteering and supporting my family. I coach Trumbull Little League for my son’s baseball team, so most weekends are spent on the diamond. My daughter’s interests are in music and theater, and I like volunteering to help her shows run smoothly. We also love traveling as a family.

Connecting with people is something I truly enjoy. The large Yale community affords me the opportunity to interact with various clients, vendors, and administrative personnel. I enjoy learning about people and partnering to make a difference in their lives.

What is your Favorite Yale Memory?
One of my favorite things to do regularly is take walks around Yale; I love exploring New Haven and the campus!
