Updates to Health Campus Salesforce Application Support

News about changes to Salesforce Health Campus support

Salesforce is a contact relationship management that can also be used for a variety of custom applications. Over 14 units at Yale currently use Salesforce in one way or another. Many more use Salesforce for email communications through Yale Message.

Salesforce support for the Schools of Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, and Yale Health, has transitioned to the Health Sciences Information Services (HSIS) team. This includes the full development and maintenance lifecycle, from design to implementation to support. This shift aligns with our strategies to simplify application development and to provide customer support close to the user’s specialized areas.

The HSIS team has big shoes to fill from the university ITS Salesforce team that developed the earlier health applications. HSIS is committed to providing the level of service set by the high bar of the ITS Salesforce team.  As we transition support to HSIS:

  • We are working closely with the ITS Salesforce team to ensure proper knowledge transfer.
  • We have created a more robust development environment with more representative data to preview feature releases before they are updated in production.
  • We are training and certifying our business analysts and developers in Salesforce technical skills.
  • As part of our change management, we are prioritizing customer service and documentation.
  • We realize this is a big shift and are thoughtfully planning strategies for communicating the change, to help everyone adapt.

Questions and requests for support or service enhancements should be directed to Salesforce.Health@yale.edu.
